About Kamata Onsen

Kamata Onsen is a long-established public bathhouse representing Tokyo. Since its opening in 1937, it has been beloved in the Kamata area for nearly 90 years.

The intensely black hot spring water, known as ‘black water,’ is so dark that it disappears as soon as you put your hand in it. It is natural hot spring water drawn from deep underground.Because many of these intensely black hot springs gush forth in Kamata, there are numerous bathhouses where you can experience black water. Among them, Kamata Onsen is renowned for having the darkest water.

Frequently featured in the media, this bathhouse has many fans among famous soccer players and entertainers.
On the second floor, at Kamata Onsen Dining, you can enjoy beer along with specialties like ‘Onsen Kamameshi’ and ‘Shio Yakisoba.’

Before you leave, be sure to stop by the reception desk.
We offer a variety of original goods, including the ‘Kamata Onsen Original T-shirt,’ which sparked a trend in bathhouse merchandise. Japanese bathhouse enthusiasts not only enjoy bathing but also collect their favorite bathhouse goods, cheering them on. Why not take home a souvenir of your journey?
